Size: 0.2 mile EW by 0.15 mile NS - Shoreline 0.2 mile
Features: This tract consists of fairly high sand dunes.
The foredune is covered with beach grass. The dune system demonstrates
succession with herbaceous growth on the foredune, shrubs on the
older dunes, and conifers and hardwoods on the backdunes. Pitcher's
thistle and Lake Huron tansy are common on the beach. The tansy
is listed as threatened because of limited distribution. Cable's
Creek enters at the north end and a bridge affords trail access.
Plan: The present access seems to be working well. It
should be monitored, but unless increased beach use begins to
degrade the site, only maintaining the access should be necessary.
