Size: 0.2 mile EW by 0.45 mile NS - Shoreline 0.45 mile.
Features: This tract has a long history of hiking, picnicking,
and camping. The beach is down a steep hill off an old unimproved
road, blocked by beaver ponds. The small bay has an abundance
of dwarf lake iris, a threatened species.
Short-term plan: No action should be taken without a careful
assessment to provide access that preserves the iris and closes
the trail to vehicles of any kind. A parking area and re-sited
trail along with signage would be necessary, followed by study
of usage.
Long-term plan: A period of monitoring to measure stability
and degradation could be followed by a reassessment of this lovely
and valuable site.
