Size: 0.1 mile to road by 0.2 mile NS - Shoreline 0.2 mile.
Location Note: This tract is correctly placed on the County
Conservation District map, but not on local maps.
Features: In the 1990s, a portion of the bluff fell into
the lake leaving a steep sandy cliff now undergoing succession
and plant fill-in. Children use the south end as a
giant sand slide. The beach is unusable. Road access and marked
parking has increased use. This highest east side Lake Michigan
viewpoint is an unstable bluff.
Plan: The improved access to the bluff should be monitored
each season. Damage by use or safety hazards could require protection
in years to come.
