Construction Begins
The cold air and nippy wind could not keep a hardy band of well-wishers
from attending the ground-breaking ceremony for the new Beaver
Island Rural Health Center.
In
the days that followed, the crews got to work preparing the site,
taking down trees, leveling the ground, staking out the building,
and pouring the concrete footings and walls. Contractor Robert
Gillespie subbed out some of the ground work to Jim Wojan Excavating,
and then Greg Cary Concrete came in to form and pour the footings
and sub-slab concrete walls. Its beginning to look like
this miracle is really happening.
