The Amvets March On
You may be among those who are asking what's going on with the Amvets, who seem to be everywhere. First it's a pancake breakfast, then a moment of respectful silence in the parade, then a pig roast, then a program to beautify Main Street, and then another pancake breakfast. The flurry of activity has a purpose: to raise money for a scholarship fund in order to award a post-freshman college student with an extra thousand dollars to start their sophomore year.
