Weather or Not
August came in like the sweltering Lion it usually is, but seems to be leaving more like a pissed-off Alley Cat. The heat, mugginess and summer haze has been replaced with cooler temps, clear blue skies and even a couple of Autumnal rainy days. The crickets came in early, a sure sign of summer's demise. Too bad, it was a truly beautiful summer.
Septembers are always a bit of a mystery: not quite summer, not quite fall. This September should prove to be sunny, but cool, with several long days of rain. The 'sleeping rain' as one scholar puts it. The autumnal equinox is on September 23rd this year, a day that proves that balance can actually be achieved. For sportsmen, this fall should be stellar and there is simply no better place to caper than on Beaver Island. So, en garde!
