Size: 0.3 mile EW by 0.2 mile NS - Shoreline 0.6 mile.
Features: This tract adjoins Little Sand Bay. There is
a built-up trail into the bay and an old trail more directly to
the point that needs repair. The beach is rocky and shallow with
a view of the harbor entrance. In low-level years the beach has
flat rocks, muddy sand, and wetland vegetation. L.S.B. Endangered
plant species are absent on the point.
Short-term plan: The walking trail needs improvement and
would offer an alternate access to L.S.B. The harbor-view area
is a prime candidate for picnicking provisions.
Long-term plan: The use of the trail and facilities should
be monitored. If population increases significantly, Luney's Point
can be considered for fuller access and facilities.
